What do you when your church is so popular that your congregation outgrows your historical-landmark building? You call Carolina Sound! John's Island Presbyterian is located in a beautiful setting on the XX River. Their sanctuary is more than XX years old and is listed in the national registry of historic landmarks. As such, they are extremely limited in what they are allowed to do with their building. For most Sundays, the original sanctuary is capable of welcoming everyone who wants to attend. But during special holidays, the crowd was bursting the building's seams. Tom Koenig, a church member and active volunteer, had the bright idea to broadcast the service into the adjacent activity hall. However, the historic nature of the church prohibited doing a lot of cabling or disturbing most parts of the building. Carolina Sound responded by integrating a high-tech remote-controlled multi-camera system, a wireless audio-video transmission system and a high-lumen InFocus video projection system. Carolina Sound spent lots of extra time to carefully conceal all wiring in the system. Any part of the system that was mounted in the historic building was attached in a non-destructive manner to parts of the church that had already been modified for such things as air conditioning and an electric organ. Because of our attention to detail, the entire system can be removed at any time with no trace of damage to the historic building. By integrating the new video equipment with the church's existing sound system, Carolina Sound was able to beam high-quality sound and video to the activity hall, allowing the church to more than double the number of people who could attend a particular service. The church also now videotapes their services for delivery to sick or elderly parishioners who cannot attend in person.

John's Island Presbyterian is just one of the dozens of historic buildings that feature Carolina Sound systems. Let us show you why Charleston trusts Carolina Sound to add modern communications systems to priceless pieces of our history.
